Korean BBQ Night – Uraidla Hotel (Friday 6 March)
The Uraidla Hotel is hosting a special Korean BBQ Night, with Executive Head Chef Jin Choi putting on an omakase‑style feast built around classic Korean flavours. Expect shared plates, smoky grilled meats and matching soju specials in a cozy Hills pub setting, starting from 6:30 pm.
It’s a good option if you feel like something different to the usual pub meal, and Uraidla is close enough for an easy Friday night drive. Bookings are a good idea, as the hotel is popular and this kind of event tends to fill quickly.

The Fiddle Chicks – Fiddles in the Forest at Dusk (Friday 6 March)
At Sinclair’s Gully Winery, “Fiddles in the Forest at Dusk” brings Adelaide folk duo The Fiddle Chicks (Dee Trewartha and Emma Luker) to the candlebark gums for a twilight Adelaide Fringe concert. As the sun goes down, their fiddles, voices and stomp boxes echo through the forest, mixed with birdsong and the rustle of the trees.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the show at 7:00 pm. Bring a rug, dress warmly, pack a picnic and enjoy Sinclair’s Gully wines under the stars for a very “Hills” kind of music night.

A Tribute to the Songbirds – Sinclair’s Gully Winery (Sat 7 & Sun 8 March)
Also at Sinclair’s Gully, “A Tribute to the Songbirds” sees Nicolina and Dean Barcello celebrating some of the great female voices of the last 80 years—artists like Etta James, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Amy Winehouse and Adele.
Shows run on Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm, again in the open‑air forest setting among the candlebark gums. If you enjoy strong vocals and storytelling, this is a lovely way to spend an evening or lazy Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine in hand.

Balhannah Hotrod and Classics Picnic – Balhannah (Sunday 8 March)
The Balhannah Hotrod and Classics Picnic turns Main Street and Johnston Memorial Park into a showcase of hotrods, customs, muscle cars and classic vehicles from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
It’s an all‑ages community event with food stalls, trade stands and plenty to look at, whether you’re a serious car enthusiast or just enjoy wandering around shiny vehicles on a Sunday.

Restaurant of the Week – LVN at Bird in Hand, Woodside

LVN Restaurant at Bird in Hand is one of the most talked‑about dining experiences in the Adelaide Hills right now—more of a long, lingering lunch than a quick bite. Set within the Bird in Hand estate at 150 Pfeiffer Road, Woodside, it looks out over vines and art‑filled gardens, with a calm, contemporary dining room that feels special as soon as you walk in.

The set menu runs to around seven to ten courses, with dishes built around seasonal and often native ingredients, and matched to Bird in Hand’s wines. It’s the kind of place where you allow a few hours, switch off your phone and let the kitchen lead you—perfect for birthdays, anniversaries or those “once in a while” long lunches that you talk about for weeks afterwards.

Autumn Job: Get Ahead of Damp and Leaks

As we move towards cooler, wetter months in the Hills, now is a good time to get ahead of the damp and dripping gutters that can cause problems later. Leaves and twigs build up quickly around trees, and blocked gutters mean water overflowing onto walls, fascias and paths instead of running away properly.

A simple weekend checklist:

  • Walk around the house and look for any gutters that are sagging or obviously full of debris.

  • If it’s safe for you, clear out leaves and muck from easy‑to‑reach sections, especially near downpipes.

  • During the next bit of rain, take a quick look outside to see if water is flowing where it should—or spilling over in the wrong places.

Catching these small issues early can save you from damp patches, mould and bigger repair bills down the track. If you notice cracks, rotten timber or anything that feels beyond a basic clean‑up, it’s worth asking a local tradie to have a look before the heavy rain sets in.
